Company Profile: Silicon Devices is a UK
based,
fabless design house and silicon chip provider. Our charter is to
facilitate
access to leading edge Silicon Integrated Circuit Technologies for
Small
to Medium-sized Enterprise Original Equipment
Manufacturers. Initiated in January 2000, SDL activities serviced a number of turnkey ASIC development opportunities in New Zealand. Focus was on providing access to silicon foundries for New Zealand companies with the goal of creating cost efficent solutions suited to New Zealand's economic environment. SDL consists
of a
core management team, plus a
network of Design Engineers and Layout Technicians empowered to work
remotely in
the Europe, USA, NZ and Australia. Access to our prime capabilities is available
through
our Design Services model, being one of four flexible business models offered through our
Design House activities.

The extended SDL team can draw on some eighty man-years design and development experience, getting products into volume production ranging from device level on silicon, through to system level on printed circuit boards. Projects include an Intellectual Property demonstration vehicle for SDL's proprietary crystal replacement technology, which targets RF transceivers such as ZigBee, BlueTooth and IEEE802.11 WLANs and an IP demonstrator for a correction technology which can be applied to low phase-step and low drift reference oscillator applications.
